Cross linking, two component, clear, tough epoxy primer for traffic paints.
TEP is an extremely tough clear primer for concrete, asphalt and many other substrates. This two component, epoxy amine crosslinking formulation is designed to have a long pot life yet dry and cure fast. It does contains high levels of hydrocarbon solvents that are considered VOC and objectionable for use in California. For low VOC requirements, we recommend our low VOC Thermoplastic traffic paint primer formulated with acetone as a solvent which is VOC exempt.

Formulated and manufactured at our facility in Atlanta, TEP is a specially formulated two component epoxy primer that is designed to have a 10 hour pot life which is working time after the two components are mixed, yet dries fast in 10 minutes when applied over concrete, asphalt as a primer or as a protective coating. Once applied and it is tack free, thermoplastic traffic paint of any type spray, extrude, hydrocarbon alkyd or any conventional traffic paint can be applied over this CLEAR EPOXY PRIMER. This cross linking epoxy primer forms a good strong deep penetrating base coat to help the applied top-coat thermoplastic paint bond better to the substrate. It also forms a water barrier to protect and prolong the life of the solid thermoplastic traffic paint.
Use as primer on side walks, pedestrian crossings, turn arrows and all high hard to bond high traffic surface areas.
Clear, two component, crosslinking epoxy-amine chemistry for better bonding, toughness and water resistance.
Convenient equal parts mixing ratio. 1 part A with 1 part B by volume.
Long open time pot life which is 10 hours after the components have been thoroughly mixed.
Fast Dry. Dry to touch : 5 mins. To Recoat : 15 mins. max. No thinning needed.
Excellent adhesion to concrete, asphalt and most road, parking garage surfaces and to top coated traffic paint.
Forms a good moisture barrier to protect and help the top coated thermoplastic traffic paint last longer.
Clean-up before dry and before complete cure is finished, with lacquer thinner or toluene.
Can be applied with brush, roller, or spray equipment designed for solvent based coatings.
Coverage 300 sq. feet / gallon or 600 linear feet of 4 inch wide line per gallon.
Caution : Solvent based, contains high VOC’s 4.5 lbs / gallon. Caution : Flammable
Shelf life 1 year in unopened, well sealed containers.
