Description

USSC’s water based RUST CONVERSION primer wb is a specifically formulated to economically and conveniently treat, convert, seal unstable loose red rust on metal surfaces to a more stable, easy to topcoat stable substrate. It dries fast and cures to a very durable clear finish that is water and weather resistant but needs to be top coated. Formulation contains special rust converting additives that are coupled with a high-performance water based acrylic resin to form a very durable tough clear sealer that resists rust and corrosion. It can be top coated with a variety of alkyd paints, water based or solvent based acrylic coatings or two component epoxy or poly urethane topcoats. In many applications there is no need for a topcoat.

• Converts unstable flaky red rust to a more stable black rust.
• Acrylic latex resin binder seals the rust and acts as a strong base for the topcoat.
• Acceptable VOC, low water-based odor.
• Apply using brush, roller and conventional airless spray equipment designed for handle water-based paints.
• Coverage 400 sq. ft / gallon. Do not apply below 50 deg. F.
• Apply 2- 3 mils wet dries to 1 – 1.5 mil wet. 4 hours to topcoat.
• Good adhesion to a variety of metal substrates.
• Can be top coated with several high-performance topcoats.
