ALKYD STRIPE FD Low VOC Traffic Line Marking Paint

ALKYD STRIPE FD Low VOC is a fast dry traffic line marking paint designed for durable pavement markings. Specifically, US Specialty Coatings formulates this solvent based alkyd acrylic copolymer paint to deliver toughness, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Because the formulation uses a self curing alkyd binder, the coating dries quickly and cures into a tough finish. As a result, crews achieve strong adhesion and long term durability on properly prepared surfaces.

In addition, this low VOC traffic line marking paint contains controlled amounts of acetone to reduce VOC levels below 250 grams per liter. However, because it is solvent based, the product is flammable and requires proper handling during application.

Designed for Pavement and Traffic Applications

Typically, crews use ALKYD STRIPE FD on concrete and aged asphalt surfaces. For example, common applications include parking lots, parking garages, side streets, and curbs.

However, this product is not recommended for freshly applied asphalt or new seal coating. Therefore, applying it only to cured surfaces ensures proper adhesion and performance.

Performance and Coverage

Notably, this traffic paint provides strong exterior durability, bead retention, abrasion resistance, and adhesion. In addition, it delivers consistent coverage across pavement surfaces.

When applied as a four inch wide stripe, one gallon covers approximately 400 lineal feet. Because of its fast dry properties, foot traffic can resume in about 30 minutes. Likewise, vehicle traffic can resume in approximately 45 minutes.
